BEATRIZ is a young artist. Art has always been part of her education. She was already attending ballet and piano lessons at the age of 2. Later, piano lessons were replaced with coir lessons. Fado came to her in her grandfather’s records. She listened to them for her whole childhood, and she learned all songs with undoubted skill.
The need to feel the words brought Beatriz to Lisbon, to Fado houses, so her senses could absorb this primordial atmosphere created by Fado and its people. And then, she invited Pablo Lapidusas to gather the songs that impacted her the most during her childhood. This album includes the participation of names like Guilherme Banza and Bernardo Couto (Portuguese guitar), Nélson Aleixo and Carlos Manuel Proença (acoustic guitar), Gustavo Roriz and Bernardo Moreira (double bass) and Ricardo Dias (piano).
The two original songs in this record were composed by Pablo Lapidusas and their lyrics were written by Beatriz. She is one of Portugal's most promissory Fado artists. Her feelings are sincere and there is emotion in every word she sings. Her technique is excellent. Her timbre is beautiful. Beatriz’s voice can be described in only a few lines, but we will hear a lot about her in the near future.
