Throes + The Shine will be releasing a promissory new album this year. Three years after “Wanga”, the three-element band formed by Igor, Marco and Mob, decided not to go the easy way and create something that would represent their pluralistic vision, a universe where different genres and influences live in crazy harmony. “Enza” that means “planet” in the Angolan dialect Kimbundo, is the motto of this album. A path that converges this trio’s influences and keeps them united and stronger than ever. This album represents the band’s past, present and future, from Luanda to Oporto, and a little all over the planet. The message conveyed by this Portuguese-Angolan band in this album’s ten songs is: what they have experienced, where they are now and where they want to go. And they do it with their explosive energy, while entering a more contemplative, mature world. This album derives from a retreat period where they lived inside a studio in an isolated country house in Palmela for nearly 2 months. This was where they recorded and experimented with the collaboration of Cachupa Psicadélica, Mile El Nte, Selma Uamusse and Sotomayor (Mexico). Throes + The Shine’s growth is noticeable, and their future is bright.
