To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of “O Monstro Precisa de Amigos” in 2019, Ornatos Violeta decided to go on a short tour, throughout Portugal, to perform their reference album to their audience. Festival F is therefore the last chance to watch this band’s reunion concert.
Released in November 22, 1999, the album “O Monstro Precisa de Amigos”, the second and last original album of Ornatos Violeta, overcame all expectations created by their first album “Cão!”, and came to confirm the talent of Manuel Cruz (vocals), Nuno prata (bass), Peixe (guitar), Kinörm (drums), and Elísio Donas (keyboard) in the composition of timeless songs, that are still being discovered, revived or interpreted by young generations year after year. “Capitão Romance” is one of those cases. This song features Gordon Gano, from the Violent Femmes, one of Ornatos Violeta’s greatest references, singing in Portuguese. Other examples are “Chaga”, “Dia Mau”, or “Ouvi Dizer” that includes the special, unforgettable contribution of Vítor Espadinha, and that are real musical treasures.
