Joana Santos was 16 years old when she sent her application to “Cómicos de Garagem”, a radio show from Antena 3 that was looking for new Portuguese comedians. In the end, she performed at Teatro de São Luiz, in Lisbon. “The period before going on stage is terrifying, but after we do it, it becomes addicting.” Over the last years, she has been studying music while participating in stand-up comedy shows, with longer or shorter breaks. Currently, she is studying for her specialisation in Anatomical Pathology, a field she compares to humour due to the “need of observation capacity”. Joana’s bits focus on the “small dramas” of everyday life. Always bearing in mind the saying “much laughter, little wit”.
